See Liverpool In A Different Light This May

Matt Crisp April 19, 2017

Liverpool’s late-night arts festival – LightNight – will be returning to the city in May this year. Running on the evening of 19 May, the event will boast over 100 free events, as well as some exciting new commissions.

This year’s theme is ‘Time’, so if you make it to the city for the evening you can expect to go on a journey through the past, present and into the future of not only Liverpool, but the planet as a whole.

You’ll also see works that explore the influence time has had on art, philosophy and scientific discovery, so there really is something for everyone here.

Starting from 5pm, the events will continue until long after dark, which means you may want to look at luxury coach hire in Liverpool to get you to and from the event in style and comfort, without the worry of having to drive home after a tiring evening exploring the city’s cultural delights.

Among the installations and events taking place this year are Standing The Test Of Time at Blackburne House, where the listed building will host music, song, dance and theatre performances alongside art installations.

Time, Space & Climate Change might be more up your street if you’re scientifically minded. This explores all aspects relating to space, astronomical objects and climate change on our planet.

As well as taking in all the action happening around the festival, you can also visit Liverpool’s museums and galleries late into the night, viewing the regular exhibitions alongside the special LightNight installations.
