4 Winter Driving Tips To Help You Get To Work

Matt Crisp December 17, 2017

It’s been really rather cold here in the UK over the last couple of days, which no doubt has made it a lot harder for many of you out there to get to work and back. Driving in icy conditions isn’t fun at all, so here are a few tips from the AA to help you make it through the winter and into spring.

Book luxury coach hire

Why don’t you take the stress out of it all and hire a professional coach driver to get you to the office and home again in one piece? Speak to your colleagues to see if anyone else would be interested in getting a group together to split the costs. You can work on the coach as well, so productivity could actually increase!

Watch the weather reports

Keeping a close eye on the weather will really help so you know how much time you need to leave to get to work. And you can always request to work from home if the weather truly is too bad for you to travel.

Make gentle manoeuvres

The key to successful winter driving is being gentle with your car so no sudden braking or accelerating at this time of year. Your stopping distances are a lot longer so remember this as well.

Get up earlier

Don’t forget you’ll have to deice your car on some days so make sure you give yourself enough time to do this and get to work on time.
