Blackpool Named Bed & Breakfast Capital Of The UK!

Matt Crisp March 26, 2018

No need to worry that you’ll have nowhere to stay if you book coach hire to Blackpool – the city has just come top of the list of places with the most bed and breakfasts in the UK, so you’re sure to find somewhere to rest your weary head after a few nights out on the Pleasure Beach.

The Direct Line for Business study found that there are an impressive 862 B&Bs in Blackpool, so there’s a lot of choice and you’re sure to find the right accommodation that suits the needs of your party with the greatest of ease.

Commenting on the findings, business manager Jane Guaschi said: “With its beaches, attractions and iconic tower it’s not hard to see why Blackpool is the archetypal British holiday hotspot. It is, therefore, good news that our analysis shows that it’s also the bed and breakfast capital of the UK, giving holidaymakers a wealth of options when it comes to choosing accommodation for their stay.

“B&Bs and guest houses offer cost-effective, personalised accommodation, often in a great location, making them the ideal place to stay when travelling around the UK. Many of these B&B operators pride themselves not only on their knowledge of the local area but also on going the extra mile to provide a great customer experience for their guests.”

So once you’ve found the perfect place to stay, what can you get up to in Blackpool? The Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park is still a great place to while away a few hours – and you can now take advantage of WOW Weekends, where all wristbands are half-price when booked online in advance.

Whatever you do, make sure that you have a go on The Big One, the highest rollercoaster in Britain at 65m tall. You’ll get some incredible views of the seafront as you climb up into the sky, before hurtling back to planet earth once again… but this probably isn’t a ride for the faint of heart!

Away from the Pleasure Beach, there’s Blackpool Zoo, a multi award-winning attraction that’s nestled in 32 acres of mature parkland. There are more than 1,000 animals to discover, including lions, zebras, tigers, aardvarks, camels, elephants, orangutans, penguins, giraffes and a whole lot more. Fun for all the family!

If waterparks are more your style, then you’re going to love the Sandcastle Waterpark Blackpool, the biggest indoor waterpark to be found in the UK. There are more than 18 slides and lots of other attractions, and you can even sign up for the VIP Tiki Cabana where you’ll get your own private area, including private hot tub and a fully stocked bar. What could be better?

For a spot of shopping, you could pop off to Fleetwood Market on the coast, with more than 150 stalls to peruse at your leisure. This is one of the biggest markets in the whole of the north-west so well worth spending a few hours at.
