Enjoy The Atmosphere Of The Grand National

Matt Crisp March 21, 2017

There are few horse racing events as iconic and thrilling as the Grand National. The event attracts 600 million viewers every year around the world, not to mention the hundreds of spectators who flock to Liverpool’s Aintree to watch it in person.

If you want to be among them this year, you should look into luxury minibus hire in Liverpool to make sure you can get to and from the race course in style.

This year the Randox Health Grand National will run between 6 and 8 April 2017 and while the horse racing is undoubtedly the highlight, there is always a lot more to look forward to over the course of the weekend.

A host of musicians will be performing live, with The Lightning Seeds putting on a show on the opening night and Sophie Ellis-Bexter taking to the stage on Ladies Day.

There will also be after-parties with Jo Whiley and Josh Ross the DJs scheduled to take to the decks and keep the crowds entertained after dark.

Of course the real highlight is the horse racing, with the Grand National itself starting at 5.15pm on Saturday 8 April, with the winner taking home a prize of £1 million.

The current favourite is Minella Rocco, with odds of 10-1, according to Grand National Guide 2017. Also in contention according to the bookies are Vieux Lion Rouge, Definitely Red and One For Arthur.

Of course, one of the things that makes the Grand National so exciting is that it isn’t always the favourites who win. Five horses with odds of 100-1 have won the race, with Mon Mome the most recent outsider to take home the title in 2009.
